22 Months Old
Today, I am 22 months old!!
SPEECH DEVELOPMENTS:
1. I use Cantonese words more than English words. My vocabulary has certainly increased. I use these words to form very simple sentences. Sometimes I would mixed both Cantonese and English words together. For example, I would say "Mommy, please... mam-mam (eat) biscuits" or "Mommy... sit here... seh ji (write)". My favourite word is "moi!" (don't want!).
2. I can say words of more than 2-syllables now. For example, I no longer say "nana" for banana. I can say "banana", "bicycle", "fire engine", etc.
3. I can recite the numbers from 1 to 10 in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
4. I can sing the first line of the nursery rhyme "Twinkle, twinkle, little star".
5. I say "pis" (please), "tang-q" (thank you) and "cuse mee" (excuse me), especially when I am asked to. But I will always say my 'please' when I really want something...
SOCIAL/BEHAVIOUR DEVELOPMENTS:
1. I still don't like to share my toys with other kids.
2. I no longer make a lot of fuss or cry when in the car. I would obediently sit in my car seat and not try to escape. (Finally!! What a relief to Mommy and Daddy!)
3. I can spent longer time by myself. I would sit quietly and read (flip pages or look at pictures) or play with my toys whilst Mommy is in the kitchen or busy with something. Sometimes when I wake up from my afternoon nap, I would just go and sit on the sofa quietly to 'read' a book without crying for Mommy. Before this, I used to cry a lot.
I like to flip the pages of my favourite book...
p/s - I am feeling a bit more energetic today compared to the past few days. Last night, I spent the night at Mah-mah's so that Daddy and Mommy can rest. Today, they feel a lot better and came to take me home at noon...
