20 Months Old

Today, I am 20 months old...

SPEECH DEVELOPMENT:

I am becoming increasingly interested in making conversations.

In just a month, I learnt many Chinese words and seem to use them more often than English words. Chinese words which I regularly use: "mou" (don't have), "moi" (don't want), "jiok fu" (put on pants), "jiok sam" (put on clothes), "san moon" (close the door), "sek juk" (eat porridge), "sai sau" (wash hands), and so on...

I also said my first and only Malay word I know: "Sayang".

I can repeat after Mommy and say quite clearly most of the letters of the alphabet from A to Z. See video here.

I can say or repeat words that are 2-syllabus well. If you ask me to say "Banana", I will say "Nana".

Having fun at Mah-mah's...

MY IDIOSYNCRASIES:

I like all doors/gates closed. If they aren't, I will say "Cose, cose, cose" or say "San moon!" or I will close them myself.

Closing the gate between the living room and the dinning room at Mah-mah's...

I like to turn switches on and off. When entering the kitchen, I will tell Mah-mah "On, on" pointing to the switches or the fan. I also want everything (the fan, TV, lights) all turned off when we leave a room (particularly the bedroom and kitchen) or when someone say "Okay, let's go!". Thus, I am nicknamed "Kun Gah Poh".

I prefer drinking water from a cup but drinking my milk from a bottle.

I feel comfortable sleeping chest down with my butt up.

I still like to arrange things (shoes, bears, pillows, etc.)

I received a colouring/sticker book from the Ah-Chun Kohkoh today. So nice of him!
