Learning to Read - A Few Words a Day

Mommy just recently (finally!) finished reading a book with the title "Teaching Your Baby How to Read" (forgot the author's name) and was very eager to apply what she learnt...

My first lesson yesterday went well. I read these three words (including my name): "Leanne", "sweet" and "home". Why the words "sweet" and "home" first? Well, that's because Mommy has been reading those "Home Sweet Home" magazines and I often ask her to 'read' it to me. Usually, she would only read the titles or subtitles. I can recognise the title of the magazine but just to be sure I can read them, she made the cards...

Today, Mommy taught me two additional words: "daddy" and "mummy" (first words to teach as suggested in the book she read)...

Seeing that I learnt rather quickly, Mommy was so eager to teach me more words but held back. She said just a few words a day first, don't want to overdo it...

My New Room - Sneak Peek #3

Baby Playset

Seeing that I love playing "baby" with my animal soft toys, Mommy thought it would be nice to buy me a baby playset. She bought one today from Tesco and also a new baby stroller to replace the one which I accidentally broke after tripping over it some time ago. I was very pleased and delighted!


So happy and can't wait to play with my new toys...

I like this study table set in Tesco...

Whenever I see this study table set, I would ask Mommy to take it down for me. Then, I would sit in the small chair and pretend to study... or pose for a picture or two... or three...

Big Pacifier for Barney

There is a newborn at Mah-mah's house. She is the younger sister of SeeMun-che-che. After observing Mah-mah taking care of the baby, I often play 'Mommy & baby' with my soft toys, especially with my rabbit or Barney. I would cradle it close to me and sing and talk to it.

Last Friday, I put Barney in the sarong and gave him a pacifier. Mah-mah told me that the pacifier belongs to the baby. She will buy another one for Barney. I told her to buy a BIG one. Mah-mah asked me why. So I said "Barney's mouth is so BIG mah!"...

My New Room - Another Sneak Peek

Today, Mommy let me have another peek at my new room. She has been busy setting it up for me. After the first sneak peek, she bought me a new comforter set for my bed and also put up the lovely mosquito netting which Auntie Sok Meng bought for me...

Copy Colour

I have this 'copy colour' book which Mommy bought for me a long time ago but it was only recently taken out for me to colour in it. Most of the time, I start colouring another picture before I finish one. I just can't wait to colour every picture in every page!

Unexpected Things I Said

1. Last weekend, during our DC, whilst in the toilet... I said "Mommy, your seefaat (backside) SO BIG!!". She was speechless at first and then she laughed...

2. Whilst on our way back from the DC, Auntie Citra asked me if my Bobo can talk and sing. I told her "Cannot. Not real one!". She laughed. That was actually the first time I opened my mouth to speak to anyone I am not familiar with...

3. Some time ago, I was in the kitchen with Mah-mah when she spilt some soya sauce. I said, "Mah-mah, jor meh kom LUN JUN (Mah-mah, why so CARELESS)". Mah-mah was taken aback by what I said and laughed. Subsequently, she reported the incident to my Daddy...

District Convention (Photos & Drawings)

Last weekend, we had a 3-day District Convention in Klang. I was quite a good girl throughout... and I even drew a few cute pictures and surprised my parents and Poh-poh. Check them out below...

Day 1 (06-08-2010):

It was a long day but I didn't make much fuss. I ate my cheese sandwiches, played quietly (with my baby Bobo) and wrote in my new little notebook with my new colour pencils which were given to me on this day. (Thank you, Auntie Mel and Uncle Gene!!)...

Day 2 (07-08-2010):

It was another long day and I was really looking forward to the lunch break when I could wander and run around outside the hall (as if I was just let out of prison!) under Daddy and Mommy's close watch...

Day 3 (08-08-2010):







During the lunch break, I met my friend, Toyon (who happened to be looking around for a friend to play with) and we had a splendid time together, running around and doing silly things and posing for Mommy who was very pleased to be able to take more photos (but with her phone camera as the nikon camera ran out of memory and also battery)...

After the lunch break, I did some colouring. Then, I did a number of drawings too. I drew for Poh-poh (she sat in front of us) and she would 'mark' my drawings and give me an "A" or some comments for each drawing I gave her. Below are my drawings (some were edited and labelled by Poh-poh)...


Pictures I drew on 6 little pieces of paper (scanned and arranged by Mommy)...

1. A few apples (leaf added by Poh-poh) and a chilli.
2. Oranges and a moon.
3. A moon and a hairy one... haha... and a sun which looked more like rambutan... haha...
4. Supposed to be a sun... but it looked like a tortoise because of the other circle I drew close to it... haha...
5. A circle inside a square and a flower (leaf and stem added by Poh-poh)...
6. Smileys but later scribbled/coloured over...

Taking a Shower Myself

Nowadays I am not scared of water. I love splashing and playing in it. Today, I even managed to persuade Mommy to let me take a shower myself. See pictures (censored by Mommy) below..

New Pink Shoes (Size 6)

Yeay, yeay! I have new shoes! My new pink shoes are size 6 and has plenty of room for my feet to grow into. I still can't fit into those nice shoes Chloe-jie-jie handed down to me. But I am growing out of the ones which I have been wearing for the past 6 months, so Mommy bought me these...

How do you want me to pose in my new shoes? Like this? Smile ah? Ok? Now I want to run around and also jump and dance in them...

I love shoes. Before I was 2 years old, I already know how to put them on myself and I can always tell the left one from the right...

33 Months Old

Today, I am 33 months old...




- I like to dress up my soft-toys and also play "doctor-doctor" and "mommy and baby".
- I suddenly grew a lot interest in jigsaw puzzles and in playing the piano. I can play the notes 'C' and 'D' with my 2 little fingers on my right hand and 'C' and 'B' with my left. I can also recognise the "rest" symbol.







- I don't mind playing by myself most of the day now. Sometimes I would happily do so and hum a song or two. But sometimes when I want a playmate (or Mommy or Daddy), I want his/her attention NOW!
- I am getting better in creating different tall buildings, cars or animals with Lego or building bricks.



- I am NO longer crazy about watching VCDs or DVDs (Barney, Pooh, Lady & the Tramp, Happy Feet, etc.) but I still like to watch them occassionally...
- I like to ask the same questions many times (even though I have heard the same answers many times already).
- I can trace most of the letters of the alphabet and colour quite well. I learnt and can write the letters I, O, A, H and ?...
- I am still very camera shy.
- I am still crazy about stickers.
- I like and eat more chicken and fish (or fishballs) now. My recent favourite food is toast and butter (lots of butter!).
- Finally, for the past few months I am no longer fearful of having my hair washed. I don't need Mommy to carry me on her lap and lean back to have my hair washed. I just sit on a little stool, tilt my head back and let the water run down my hair/head.
